Even with some structural blank sailing arrangements due to detours around the Cape of Good Hope and congestion at ports in Asia and North America, the volume of goods on the trans-Pacific eastbound routes remains strong, even surpassing the same period last year. Some routes have introduced more Premium services, including expedited services, guaranteed equipment and space services, while some carriers are trying to reduce the backlog of cargo in Asia by adding extra space. Routes to the southwest coast of the U.S. have already increased additional space, and the overall situation is improving weekly, although the east coast of the U.S. still shows a full-capacity situation.
